The three things a self-publishing author needs to pay for to produce a professional book are editing, formatting and cover design. Cover design is many times the first impression a reader gets of a book. There is only one rule concerning covers. A potential reader/buyer has to be able to read the title and the author's name when the book is seen as a thumbnail. Aside from that anything goes but the more draw your cover has visually, the more likely a reader is to look deeper into your work.
RIP offers several options for cover design at different prices. Below are different design processes we use to make a cover to fit your needs and budget
This is a simple abstract created in Photoshop. This is a $60 design using this process to generate a cover.
This is a pen and ink drawing colored using Photoshop This type of cover ranges from
$300 to $450. Client gets the art.
This is a more specific Photoshop cover and this type is $100.
This is a cover completely painted that is a generic landscape. $300-$600.
Client gets the art.
This is a cover created using one of the cover artist's exsisting paintings. This is a $150 cover.
This is a completely painted cover based on the author's characters and stories. This type of cover is $600 up.
